Actress Paris Hilton has been criticised by animal rights groups for apparently dumping her dog Tinkerbell because she grew too big. Tinkerbell had grown beyond the 3.5 pounds supposed to be its ideal weight. Hilton now has left Tinkerbell and opted for a smaller dog named Bambi.

In response to this, the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals has said, “It’s a pity that Paris’ heart doesn’t match her pocketbook. Animals shouldn’t be disposed of like last season’s trendy handbag.”
