Kathmandu:

Nepal Home Appliances Show 2005, the country’s first ever show of domestic goods, kitchen accessories and electronics started on May 26 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall. There are altogether more than 60 stalls having products of all kinds imported from various countries. Distributors have come up with a variety of schemes including discounts, exchange service, free maintenance, and financing and free gifts with each purchase available only during the exhibition. Global Exposition & Management Services (GEMS) has organised this programme. Khagendra Baral, director of GEMS said, “An exhibition of this kind brings distributors, retailers and customers together and is beneficial for all three parties involved in a trade. We have expected that about 60,000 visitors will visit the exhibition.”

These goods, once considered luxuries, have now become everyday necessities of the people. Some of the products showcased have already taken a good market while some new products have also been launched for the first time. Vinod Sagtani, chairman Sagtani Exim says, “When all the products available in the market are showcased at one place, the customers get the opportunity to have the first hand information about the goods from the distributors themselves. So there is no possibility of being cheated and the customers choose from a variety of products available at one place.”

This exhibition is useful for those who are planning to make a purchase soon and even worth visiting for those who are in need of correct information for future purchase. One will get all the information under one roof. The exhibition will continue till May 29.
