In Dibya’s memory

KATHMANDU:

Dibya Sangeetkar: Dibya Khaling a compilation on the different aspects of the life of renowned composer-musician Dibya Khaling was launched by veteran musician Amber Gurung at Hotel Himalaya on September 22.

Gurung, who was also Khaling’s teacher, talked about his student. “No matter how good a teacher, he cannot teach well if the student is not interested to learn. But with Dibya I never faced such a problem. His works and success have made me very proud of him,” said Gurung.

Khaling’s widow Grace, Prakash Sayami and Bhuwan Devkota have edited the book.

While speaking at the function Grace expressed, “My wish is to give the next generation something through which they can know about Dibya.”

Sayami added, “This is the first book that presents a holistic view of Dibya Khaling’s personality and his area of work.”

Various personalities related to music field like Rastra Kabi Madhav Parsad Ghimire, Deep Shrestha, Kumar Subba, Prem Dhoj Pradhan among others have contributed to the compilation of the book which has been published by Ekta Books.
