Stone arrives in Capital
KATHMANDU: The arrival of British soul singer Joss Stone has elated the musical soul of Capital. Stone landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in the afternoon of February 16.
She is here to perform at the concert ‘Joss Stone Live in Kathmandu’, scheduled to be held on February 18 at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu.
Performance in concert is Stone’s prime objective to visit Nepal, but she will also be involved in activities other than music.
“Tomorrow (February 17) morning, she will be visiting Ramesh (11-year old Ramesh Darji of Baglung with rare fungal disease), who is in a hospital in Kathmandu for treatment. Then it will be sight-seeing,” Sanjay Shrestha, organiser of the concert informed of her activities during her stay.
Joss Stone Live in Kathmandu is a charity concert where Stone will be performing with her six-piece-band. As per Shrestha, the proceeds from the concert will be used for Darji’s treatment. The Grammy-award winning singer will also be collaborating will be singing nun Ani Choying Drolma and, Kutumba’s flautist Rubin Kumar Shrestha. The trio will work together to make memorable music.
Stone will leave for Dhaka, Bangladesh on February 19.
