Katrina turns 25

MUMBAI: Katrina has more than one reason to smile. For one, her latest flick, ‘New York’ did great on the box office, another reason is that it’s her birthday today.

Kat’s plans for her B-day

“I'm celebrating my birthday this year with my entire family, all my sisters who have flown down from all over, my mom who's flown down from Chennai and my brother who's a professional rock climber,” says Katrina, who will turn 25 today.

Born to a British mother and an Indian father, Katrina is one of the eight siblings.

The actress spent her formative years in Hawaii but later on moved to London.

Sounding quite excited about the trip, she adds, “I was supposed to spend a long holiday with them last year during Christmas and New Year in London, but I had to cut my trip short because of my work schedule. So this year I'm specially taking time out for them and we are going to Italy for a family get together.

"I haven't had a break in almost two years, so I'm looking forward to this.”

Katrina’s birthday party last year saw the clash of titans, when boyfriend Salman Khan picked up a fight with Bollywood ‘Badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan. So this time Kat is celebrating the special day away from all the drama.

Kat’s rocket like climb

Katrina is only six years old in the industry, and has already established a firm foothold in the industry. Kaif's London modeling work led to her discovery by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, who gave her a part in his film ‘Boom’ in 2003.

Though the film was a flop, people noticed her and she was offered a role in Ram Gopal Varma's 2005 film 'Sarkar'.

Her big break however came in with the block buster hit ‘Namastey London’ in 2008.

From then on, she delivered an array of hit films like 'Apne', 'Partner', 'Welcome', 'Race' and 'Singh Is Kinng’. The latest one being 'New York'.
