Pokhara:

Kunchang Moktan was crowned Miss Tourism Queen International Nepal-2007 on June 16.

A student of Xavier International College, Moktan was crowned with the title by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prithvi Subba Gurung.

The grand finale that concluded at Pokhara’s Fulbari Resort late on Saturday evening, also saw Laxmi Gurung crowned first runner-up, and Chet Kumari Gurung second runner-up.

A total of 14 contestants had made it to the finals.

Sashila Joshi, Laxmi Gurung, Kunchang Moktan, Rina Adhikary, Subhechha Dewan and Rosani Maharjan were announced as Miss Talent, Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic,

Miss Best Hair, Miss Smile and Miss Friendship respectively.

During one-month training period, the contestants visited different places in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Subhas Niraula, Nilima Gurung, Sundar Shrestha, Biplab Poudel, Bishwa Palikhe and Chinu Gurung were those on the panel of judges for the contest that saw face different rounds to show their talents.

Moktan will represent Nepal in the Miss Tourism International Queen 2007 pageant to be held in China in July.

Miss Tourism International Nepal-2007 was organised by Group of Entertainers in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board, with Annapurna Post as the official print media. The co-sponsors of the event were Everest Beer and Marco Polo Travels.
