Lady Boy Drew Barrymore

LONDON: Drew Barrymore often feels like a boy because she's isn't very girly and likes sports and ''hot chicks''.

Drew Barrymore feels like a boy.

The actress - who made her directorial debut in the new movie 'Whip It', a story about a teenager who is pushed into beauty pageants by her mother before becoming a roller derby player - doesn't like being girly and often feels quite "androgynous".

She said: "I'm like a 13 or 14-year-old boy who loves fun music and hot chicks and sport, and I like empowerment and women who are capable and humorous. I think I am extremely androgynous. I love comedy and jokes. I am always the person who is fighting in marketing meetings, 'Please don't forget the boys, remember them too.'

"Whenever people get too girly, I am, like, 'No, no.' I just appreciate women and whenever I fall in love with their minds and their talents, that is really what gets me hot."

The 35-year-old star also claims her life is easier now she is older because nothing overwhelms her.

She told The Sunday Times Culture magazine: "I think you start to feel more secure. You feel so overwhelmed in your 20s, and you sit around going, 'Oh my god!'

"You find yourself talking to friends about work and your life, and you wonder if it is all going to be OK - 'Is this going to work out, what is going to happen?' Now, I don't feel as if I know it's going to be OK, but I don't feel it is going to kill me. I've got a good perspective on life now. It's like, 'We are going to get through this.'"
