Public Speaking:
If you need to speak in front of an audience, this course equips you with the skills you need to speak confidently, clearly and dynamically. The course helps people feel confident to stand up in front of any audience and impress that audience not only by what they say, but how they say it – including body language. All participants are videoed at least three times during the course, and can watch themselves progressing. At the end of the course they go to the hall of the British Embassy and speak in front of an audience made up of their friends and family.
Creative Writing:
This course will help you to develop ability to write imaginatively and creat-ively so that you can write stories that will gi-ve readers real pleasure.
Write Well:
This is meant for people who need to write essays, papers and articles for academic journals or want to write non-fiction for publications. It’s also good preparation for those taking exams like — IELTS, or GCEs, or Plus two or Intermediate.
IELTS:
British Council has the best IELTs course available in the capital as IELTS is a British Council owned exam. You learn about the exam and also how to improve your study skills and exam techniques.
Grammar Busters:
If you want to concentrate on English grammar problems and communicate more accurately in English, but want to improve this without being bored to death, this course consist of a series of games and activities which are both amusing and ensure strong learning.
Business English:
For those who want to develop specific professional skills, this is a special course covering business writing, marketing and advertising, business meetings and negotiations and customer care. Here people learn how to write business letter and reports, how to market and advertise products and services, how to conduct effective business meetings, how to provide good quality Customer Care, and how to negotiate business deals.
English for Tourism:
This course is designed to help those working in the tourist industry communicate more effectively with tourists. This helps trekking guides and other people who need to communicate with tourists in English to do so more effectively.
For young learners:
They offer a range of courses for your children which will help them to build and develop their English language skills while having fun and really getting involved in a story or a topic.
In order to enrol in any course, you need to do a placement test to find out your current level of English. The next term begins after the Dashain and Tihar holidays, with testing and registration open from November 5.
