Manjul charms all

KATHMANDU: The Paleti Shrikhala series, which has been featuring different artistes, introduced yet another singer on April 28.

Indeed, Nepa~laya which has been reviving the lost tradition of the artiste-audience proximity, couldn’t have been complete without Manjul, whose mellifluous melodies are as powerful as his words. In altogether 18 songs that rang through the closed confines of the r-sala, the spell broke only when rounds of applause thundered the hall.

Manjul was one of the key personalities behind the famous Nepali groups like ‘Ralpha’ and ‘Sankalpa’, both of which were known for their strong soclialist inclination. Since the mid-80’s though Manjul has remained passive, both musically and politically, this event should mark Manjul’s journey into yet another of his domain.

The Paleti is held every last Friday of the Gregorian calender.
