Kathmandu, March 14:

Dance, music and more… Jazzmandu took the people on the street by surprise when a group of musicians performed what they do best and danced a small distance from Upstairs Bar to Shangri~la Hotel for peace. The third Jazzmandu festival held in Nepal not only promotes music but also tourism in the country, feels Mahesh Sajnani, organiser of the festival.

Buddhist monks were up since morning to pray for peace. They chanted prayers all the way till Shangri~la Hotel. Even though the parade lasted a short distance, the effect they sought really worked out. “We want peace to reign in the country so all of us are here to pray for peace,” informs Tashi Lama, head of the Mehepi monastery. Around 13 monks had gathered for the peace rally.

Traditional music along with Lakhe dance accompanied the rally. Besides the people performing traditional music and dance, there were very few Nepalis to join the march for peace, which at this particular phase is more than important for peace to reign in the country all over again.
