March of American films

KATHMANDU: To celebrate the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards — The Oscars — the American Library has dedicated March as ‘American Movie Month’. Each morning starting March 6, the library will screen a film selected from the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 Greatest American Movies. Seating is limited to the first 40 people in the door, and the films will begin 9 am sharp.

• March 6: It’s a Wonderful Life (NR)

• March 7: Star Wars (PG)

• March 8: The Grapes of Wrath (NR)

• March 9: The Maltese Falcon (NR)

• March 10: Casablanca (PG)

Films rated G and PG are appropriate for most audiences. Films not rated also are appropriate for most audiences. People under 13 years of age will not be allowed to view PG-13 films without a parent present. For more information, contact a librarian at the American Centre — 4445577.
