Minister announces pregnancy on Facebook

PARIS: France's minister for the digital economy on Wednesday used Facebook to publicly announce her pregnancy.

Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet said she couldn't "hide it any longer."

"So there, it's true, I'm pregnant," wrote the 35-year-old minister in a posted message confirmed by her office.

"My husband and I are very happy. I'm due this summer."

Justice Minister Rachida Dati gave birth to daughter Zohra in January after sparking an intense guessing game in the French press about the identity of the father.

Dati, who is stepping down to run in European parliament elections in June, has refused to divulge the father's name.

Kosciusko-Morizet, who is married and has a three-year-old son, was appointed minister for the development of the digital economy in January after serving as secretary of state for the environment
