The University of East London received its charter in 1992, but it was founded in 1898 as

West Ham Technical Institute. Currently it is recognised as one of UK’s leading modern universities. The

university’s programmes are

practical, innovative and relevant, meeting the needs of students and industry alike. UEL is an international university with students from around 120 countries at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. There are around 4,000 international students.
