More trouble ahead for Udit Narayan?
SAHARSA: Social organisations and political parties have expressed solidarity
with singer Udit Narayan’s ‘estranged’ first wife Ranjana Jha, who is running from pillar to post seeking justice.
Ranjana was supported by JD(U) MLA Neeraj Kumar Singh alias Bablu, who has urged the singer to accord her the status of wife within two weeks. “If he refuses to comply with our request, thousands of people from Kosi and Mithilanchal would go to Mumbai to force him to accept his abandoned first wife,” Singh declared. “Twelve MLAs of Kosi and Mithilanchal would go to Mumbai and urge the Maharastra Chief Minister and the Governor to intervene into the matter,” Singh added.
“Films with Udit Narayan’s songs would not be screened in Bihar till he accepted his estranged wife and gave her her due rights,” he threatened.
Former MP and JD(U) leader Lovely Anand described the act as ‘sinful’ adding she would leave no stone unturned to ensure justice to the lady.
BJP leader and MLA Sanjeev Kumar Jha also expressed his anguish over Udit’s ‘behaviour’ and said he would persuade him to give Ranjana her due rights.
Meanwhile, Bihar State Women’s Commission had issued summons to the singer to appear
before it and explain his position in the wake of the complaint lodged by Ranjana.
Udit Narayan allegedly later married Deepa without divorcing his first wife and is living with her in Mumbai.
