Nepathya to rock Finland

KATHMANDU:

Nepathya, the Nepali folk-rock band, left for Finland on May 22 to participate at the World Village Festival, according to a press release issued by nepa~laya. The World Vilage Festival is an annual event organised by Finnish Centre for Development Cooperation with an aim to promote development aid work and thus raise people’s awarenessto support development.

According to Pasi Rajander, chairman of the Finnish-Nepal Friendship Association, the main reason behind selecting Nepathya is Nepathya’s work related to advocating peace and democracy in Nepal.

Various local and international artists are invited to give performance at the festival with the aim of promoting multiculturalism in Finland. “I have taken this trip as a note of respect from Finland to Nepathya and hence Nepal” said Amrit Gurung, Nepathya’s frontman.
