Oprah defends helping Obama

NEW YORK:

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, who donated generously for presidential candidate Bar-ack Obama’s campaign, defends herself saying her money won’t secure him the White House.

She insists it’s the influence she wields, not the money she gives, that will be the real help. Hollwood.com quoted her as saying, “My money isn’t going to make any difference. My value to him — my support of him is probably worth more than any other cheque that I could write.”

Earlier, Hollywood actresses Jennifer Aniston and Halle Berry had donated $2,300 — the maximum amount allowed for the Democratic primary — to Obama’s team. — HNS
