PICK OF THE WEEK

It can be hard for us to cut down on crisps, sweets and choccy for a while, but one boy cut them out entirely for a year, and raised £1,000 for charity. Eleven-year-old Mark Roc-hman, from Surrey, finally ended his self-imposed treat ban at 5.45am on January 31, with some crisps and Belgian chocolates. His mum says he now doesn’t know how he managed to do without the goodies. He’s giving the cash he raised over the year to Save the Children, to use in projects in Africa.
