Playboy replies

LONDON: The Playboy magazine has fired back at actress Jessica Alba’s claims that it implied she posed naked by placing her on its front cover. Playboy says many celebrities have appeared on their cover without appearing nude in the magazine, according to contactmusic.com. Alba’s lawyers had sent a threatening letter to the magazine after it published an image of Alba in a bikini. Alba claims the choice of the front cover insinuates that she appears nude or semi-nude in the magazine. She said: “Playboy has violated my personal rights and blatantly misled the public, who might think I had given them permission to put me on their cover when I didn’t.” But Playboy says it put her on the front cover because she won a readers poll as being the “sexiest star of the year”.
