In paradise:

What is the place called

paradise

Is it the heaven or skies?

Does the star twinkle from paradise

The moon shows its face from its gates.

I long to go and see it

What is so special about it

I went to paradise in my dream

And there I saw nothing to scream.

Paradise was really a

splendid place

And really a wonderful

thing to be praised

It was all just in my dream

When my sister gave me chocolate and cream.

I was very happy to be

in paradise

It was like a beautiful surprise

Paradise is a magnificent place

And people say it is in space.

Old people say that

we should go to paradise

Get the real happiness of life

But is it the heaven or the skies?

— Vipul Kabra, Class XI, Himalayan White House Int’l College, Kathmandu

At the zoo:

Last night I went to

the zoo

Wearing tight white shoes

I went with my daddy and mummy

And my shy brother Tommy.

The zoo area was clean

And the meadows were green

Some animals were seen in the den

While the others were in the pen.

Monkeys were chattering

And birds were twittering

But the flightless ostrich

Was marching up and down

Like a restless circus clown.

I saw beautiful peacocks

Wearing multicoloured frocks

And our national bird Lophophorus

Singing all in a chorus.

I took a jolly ride

Round the funny

temple

Oh! Don’t look around

As it is not a holy

temple.

I love all the animals

They are God’s

creations

But I request all the poachers

Not to kill them for recreation.

Animals are our friends

We mustn’t be like

cannibals

Be just and protect them

Let’s live and let

them live too.

— Sarah Pradhan, Class V, Living Stone Academy, Kathmandu

Our world:

I love the world

I live in

I love to see the sky

When birds fly

I love the garden

Where I play

I love my friends

Because they are helpful

I love Nepal

Because it is beautiful.

— Sunshine Rai, Class III, Penwood Academy, Kathmandu

Nature:

Nature you are full of

beauties

You contain the big rocky mountains

And also the soft pleasant grass

You give us air that is

first-class.

You give us place to live

You make us feel free

We live on everything that you provide

We know you are there to protect us.

— Rajshree Kabra, New Don Bosco Academy, Kathmandu

Making God happy:

Flower, trees, plants and bees

God made all of these

God helps us in every way

We should be truthful everyone says

God is only one super

creature

Who made nature

So love all things

That makes God happy.
