Saturday Sessions set to redefine live music

KATHMANDU: A monthly concert series, ‘Saturday Sessions’ — that aims to redefine Nepali live music — has been introduced to the music enthusiasts. The first episode of Saturday Sessions was held at Moksh on February 13 with the performance of two-piece-band April Rush, backed by amazing musicians.

“We want to take live music to another level — be it through the presentation, performance or any other way,” shares guitarist Manoj Kumar KC about his brainchild Saturday Sessions, adding, “It is the centre stage for polished artistes who can create magic through improvisation.” Twelve episodes of Saturday Sessions have been planned, and it will be held on the second Saturday of every month. Different bands and artistes will be featured in the series.

Next artistes to perform in the Saturday Sessions is fusion band Kanta dAb dAb. The band will perform on March 12 at Moksh.

KC further expresses, “It is a proper concert and not a pub concert.” It is also not unplugged concert.

Moreover, the concert will be documented, and recorded live in a multi-track system. And all sessions will be later broadcast on YouTube and other broadcast media.
