World Cup fever

To celebrate the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Shridiwa Int’l School hosted an inter-school World Cup Quiz competition on June 16 June. Students from seven schools vied for the World Cup trophy. The participating schools were Young Hearts Boarding School, Daffodil Public School, Basanta Ritu School, South Point Boarding School, HIMS, Alok Vidhyashram and Brihaspati Vidhyashram. Each school represented a country playing in the World Cup finals. The quiz consisted of a general round, rapid fire round, visual round. Daffodil, Basanta Ritu, South Point and Brihaspati went through to the semi finals, with Basanta Ritu and Brihaspati making it to the finals. Brihaspati put on a brilliant show and lifted the coveted trophy. — Max Dewan

Talking it out

An inter-house debate competition in Nepali was held on June 6 at Shuvatara school for the students of Classes IX and X on the topic ‘Women should be given education rather than wealth’. Moondrops, Starshines and Sunbeams stood first, second and third respectively. Also on June 14, an inter-house elocution contest in Nepali and English was organised. The competition encouraged the writers and poets of Classes IX and X, who enthusiastically participated in the contest. Quiz time
