KATHMANDU:

The Standard Chartered Bank Nepal in association with the Himalaya Eye Hospital in Pokhara oraganised an eye camp in Damauli.

According to a press release issued by the bank, 617 people were examined and 89 out of them who needed cataract surgery were brought to Pokhara where the operations were conducted.

All 89 surgeries were sponsored by the bank. The bank staff had participated in the Damauli camp and visited the hospital to watch the surgeries in progress.

The surgeries were possible due to the efforts of the bank and people who organised a walkathon last year to raise funds and awareness. This was part of Standard Chartered’s Seeing is Believing campaign.
