Spotlight on mines
KATHMANDU: The Devil’s Miner, a movie dealing with child labour, is being scre-ened at the Dhokai-ma Café, on January 19 as part of the Children in the Shadows film festival. The movie is a gritty portrait of two bro-thers, who are compelled to work inside the silver mines of Cerro Rico, Bolivia due to poverty. They are exposed to thre-ats to their health and well being by the brutal adults, prejudice and discrimination. It also addresses hazards faced by mineworkers.
