Stewart becomes papa for 7th time
LONDON: Ageing rock star Rod Stewart on November 28 was celebrating becoming a father for the seventh time after fiancee Penny Lancaster gave birth to a baby boy. The couple’s first child, who has yet to be named, was born early on Sunday at a London hospital, weighing in at a healthy seven pounds and seven ounces.
In a statement, Stewart, 60, said: “Both Penny and our baby son are gorgeous, healthy and doing well.” He added: “We are celebrating every moment with our beautiful boy, we just can’t take our eyes off of him.” Mother and father are back at their home in Epping, Essex, eastern England with the baby.
The child is Lancaster’s first, while Stewart’s seventh. The new parents, who have been together for six years, are expected to marry in the near future after Stewart proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower in March.
