Stupa wows at all stars night

Kathmandu:

The singing sensations of the Jazzmandu festival were all there to make the penultimate night a memorable one. However, as the musicians gathered at the Shambala Garden, Hotel Shangri La on October 17, the audience were expecting more than just what they’d witnessed during the entire festival.

The reason — all the musicians from the different bands would jam together to create a high-energy atmosphere for the audience to jive the night away.

The bands played a mix of Jazz, Blues and Caribbean music. While Stupa and the saxophonist Soprano again emerged the star of the show, the other bands too contributed to create the high-decibel concert an entertaining affair.

The All Star fever at the Shangri-la featured The Remi Abram Quartet, Cadenza and Friends, Nick Aggs, EL David, Andy Grosskopf, Andreas Hessen Schei and Hilde Marie Kjersem, Francois Carrier and the Nepali classical band.

The Surya Classic Jazzmandu 2006 is presented by Upstairs Ideas.
