SUNSILK FASHION WEEK : Strong style statements

Kathmandu :

The Sunsilk Nepal Fashion Week (SNFW) gathered momentum as it reached its third evening on August 12. Not only has it been able to pull a good crowd, but even the designers have been able to spell strong style statements.

The evening’s show began with the theme ‘Fashion as an art form’, which used vibrant blue, pink, yellow, orange and red to bring out the essence of an eye-catching blend of an artistic mélange of colourful attires with unusual prints on hand woven silk, cotton, satin and chiffon.

In 17 sequences showcased during the evening’s show, Shrestha Tailoring Centre stood out with a striking variety of the choicest of formal attires designed for both the men and women. The other highlights were summer cool outfits, jupees fruities — an exuberant assortment of skirts in fruity colours and daring expressions of style and splendour.

They also brought some luminaries from different fields to add more vitality to the show. Some of the eminent ones to walk the ramp were Sanjay Shrestha, Narayan Puri and Ram Krishna Dhakal. The show concluded with ‘Kaleodic Scope’, en equally gorgeous variety of Indo-Western collection of sarees, salwars, skirts and trousers.

Day 4 has many more stellar designs in store. And don’t forget to visit the stalls that have been put up for the week. These are open from 11:00 am and entry is free.
