Sur Sudha charms Europe

KATHMANDU:

Classical instrumental ensemble Sur Sudha recently completed their Europe tour. During the tour, which took place during June and July, the group performed in countries like Germany, France, Holland, England and Luxembourg.

The group also performed with local artistes — in Paris they performed with a local band, while in London they performed with Joshua Field.

While talking about their performance Surendra Shre-stha, tabla player, said that Resam firiri is undoubtedly the most popular song and they got a lot of requests from the audience for that song.

However, Shrestha pointed out one major change that he observed this time, was “foreigners were more concerned about the situation of our country, earlier they used to talk a lot about music but this time they were asking more about the present state of Nepal and also if it’s safe to travel to Nepal”.

The group is going on another tour to Japan and Korea in September this year. — HNS
