Thatcher’s to blame for London crime rise: Gallagher

LONDON:

Oasis lead singer Noel Gallagher has blamed Margaret Thatcher, who served as the British prime minister from 1979 to 1990, for the present day increase in crime in the country.

Mirror.co.uk quoted Gallagher as saying, “The rise in crime is horrible. I don’t even know what Cameron and Gordon Brown are going to do about it. It all goes back to the Thatcher years. That’s where the rot set in.”

Gallagher fears the problem has got out of control and he and his partner Sara McDonald were wondering how they would protect their children.

He said, “Me and the missus talk about it at night about how our kids are going to grow up. I don’t know what you can do. In my day, status was trying to be somebody, not trying to kill somebody. So how’s that all changed? It’s really really scary.”
