The day I forgot to say thanks
It was a Sunday afternoon. It was raining very heavily as I came out of the school. I had forgotten to carry my umbrella to school. So, I waited for my Dad to pick me up. However, he called me on the school phone to tell me that he wouldn’t be able to come. I decided to return home slowly by myself.
As I started to walk on the wet slippery road, my legs became dirty and my bag started getting so heavy that it was almost for me to carry it. Then I began to run very fast.
And while I running blindly to reach home as soon as I could, I fell into a deep ditch.
I was not even aware that there was a ditch. I tried to get out of the ditch but without success. I shouted at the top of my voice, but no one came to my help.
All were busy with their own thing. Finally I saw a woman with an umbrella who stood in front of me and stretched her hand towards me. I held on to her hand and pulled myself out of the ditch.
I was very thankful to her but I didn’t even thank her for her kind help because I quickly rushed towards home after I got out. So selfish of me.
When I reached home, I remembered her help and felt very guilty. I still feel bad whenever I remember that day.
