As Australia’s youngest and most diverse university, Charles Darwin University is founded on 50 years of delivering tertiary education to the Northern Territory. The university’s genesis came about with the introduction of the Territory’s first adult education classes in Darwin in 1951. With around 19,000 students Charles Darwin University is the Northern Territory’s major tertiairy institution. The university offers a wide range of courses, from VET through to undergraduate and postgraduate, and is fast gaining a national and international reputation for excellence in both teaching and research.

Higher Education and Vocational Education Training (VET) course and programme offerings are now available for 2005. Study options start with short courses and enabling programs and range through VET programs, undergraduate study, postgraduate courses and doctorates. Because of the multi-sector nature of our institution, we can offer an amazing number of pathways to study. International students can study a wide range of courses, including English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS), Foundation Studies, Vocational Education and Training (VET), Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. The university’s areas of strength include Business, Information Technology, Environmental Sciences, Geographic Information Systems, Tourism and Hospitality, Indigenous Studies, Visual Arts and Music.
