Baboons are just as good as us when it comes to shopping around and hunting out bargains, researchers have found. Experts monitored the animals hunting for food in South Africa and found they had the ability to plan ahead and keep an eye out for the best deals. Instead of grabbing the first foods on offer, lots of the primates travelled further afield to look in more unusual places for rarer treats, like figs. Researchers say it shows the baboons are capable of using their imagination.
