Thousands run for a cause
KATHMANDU: Kathmanduites are sure willing to move ahead. And this time they weren’t just ambling about, but participating in a 5-km fun run to contribute to a noble cause. The ‘Samsung KTM 5-km Fun Run’ kicked off at Basantpur Durbar Square with over 3000 participants at 8:00 am on October 22, and ended at BICC at 10:30 am. According to the organisers, the number of participants far exceeded their expectations.
The overwhelming response received from the public was evident when the organisers had problem distributing more than 2,500 trophies and certificates, which had earlier been arranged for. The event was organised by Scheer Memorial Hospital in association with AIMS children’s series. The proceeds of the event will be donated to Scheer Memorial Hospital.
