Top ten to perform at Miss Nepal 2005

Kathmandu:

The search for a singing star, Samsung Nepali Tara, is approaching its final episode. Out of 9,000 participants , only six contestants are left to wrestle their way into the few upcoming rounds. The competition is getting even more unpredictable, with the public voting making it even more so. Who finally manages to clinch the title still remains in the realms of speculation. Ramesh Pokhrel, who was arguably one of the best singers, was thrown out of the contest this week. Even the participants are apprehensive about the possible outcomes.

“The contestants have their own circle of fans,” Brazesh Khanal, organiser and host of the show, added, “Judges’ evaluation has its role but public voting has become instrumental for the final decision.”

Organisers claimed that over 8,00,000 people directly participated in the show through phone,

e-mail and SMS. Votes came in from as far as Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Bahrain. The final ten singers have achieved ministar status by the exposure the show has accorded to them. They have already performed in a number of public functions. They are also scheduled to perform at the most happening beauty contest in the country, the Dabur Vatika Miss Nepal 2005.
