Tough times ahead for judges

Kathmandu: As the final 10 participants from the second round of competition have been selected (which makes 40 participants ready to take the stage to compete for the second round), Samsung Nepali Tara enters the third round of competition which is expected to be exciting as well as interesting.

Competition is tightening and aspirant singers are pulling up their socks and preparing their armoury. Samsung Nepali Tara, one of the most watched shows on Nepali television, is

aired every Saturday on Nepal Television. Annapurna Post is the official media for the show.

With every episode, the show is getting mature. As Deepak Jungam, one of the judges, says, “There is no doubt that the show has pulled in tremendous viewership in this country. But the most important aspect of this show is that

not only us but everyone else has now realised that there is no dearth of talent in this country. There are so many talents which are undiscovered, ungroomed and ignored.”

Jungam adds, “Such shows are the meant to find gems and such shows have to be organised and should be continued. Even in India, there are a number of shows of such type which certainly helps develop the industry.”

Jungam affirms, “Yes, we will definitely have a tough time to choose one from a bunch of talented singers as the countdown decreases but I would like to make sure that with the end of the show, the country will see one of the finest singers ever here.” —HNS
