LONDON: Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm claims her band mates have shown true “girl power” by combining career and motherhood.

Chisholm believes the message of “girl power” is relevant even almost 10 years after the band first came out, contactmu-sic.com reports. Chisholm is not a mother but she respects her band mates Geri Halliwll, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton for being hardworking women. She said, “Girl power has always been there. We were very lucky to champion it through the ‘90s. It was there before us and it will never go away. It’s really nice to come back and the girls are really proud to say they are working mums. Bringing up kids and working is tough. That’s what girl power is all about.”
