Unique inspiration

KATHMANDU: Fashion inspiration is one of the important parts in the process of designing a collection — it can come from anywhere: people’s lifestyle, or a goddess too! This is at least true in case of these fresh faces participating in the Blenders Pride - TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016. Get to know about these aspiring designers who will showcase their unique creations at the fashion gala, set to take place from March 30 to April 2 at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

THEME: RESORT WEAR

Inspiration: The colourful lifestyle of gypsy and their nomadic way of life, which they have been leading in parts of Europe and North America have inspired our collection.

Strength of your collection: We have reflected the colourful and vibrant vagabond lifestyle. We have used fringe, frills and slits in our outfits.

Expectations from the Fashion Week: It’s our first step towards success. We’re excited to be a part of it.

THEME: THE 70’S FLARE

Inspiration: The colour and silhouette of bell-bottoms of 1970s have inspired me to come up with this collection.

Strength of your collection: I have used similar silhouette, vibrant colours, shiny stones and glitter works in my collection. I also have long gowns and short dresses.

Expectations from the Fashion Week: As it is my very first time, I am nervous thinking how it’s going to be like. I hope everything goes well and everybody likes my collection.

THEME: APHRODITE

Inspiration: My inspiration is the Greek Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation —Aphrodite. My dresses reflect the beauty of goddess.

Strength of your collection: My each piece has been elegantly designed. I have selected dark shades in my collection of floor length dresses, such as black, ink blue and maroon. The dark colours signify beauty. Also, I have incorporated white to show purity of women. There are lots of glitter and sparkle.

Expectation from the Fashion Week: I am very nervous as this is a huge event. But at the same time I am confident to present my ability and strength. I will be learning a lot too.
