United we have fun!

KATHMANDU:

The Jawalakhel field was packed on February 9 for the two-day ‘United Fun Fair’, the celebration of 10 years of completion of United Academy.

The fair was inaugurated by Education and Sports Minister Pradip Nepal.

A number of game, food and information stalls gave the visitors an entertaining and informative day. Various consultancies and travel agencies had also put up their stalls. Many tried the mouthwatering delights being served at the food stalls, though the pleasure was slightly hampered by the coulds of dust at the venue.

Teaching and non-teaching staff who had served since the Academy’s foundation were also felicitated at the occasion.

The main attraction of the day was the live concert featuring some well-known artistes in Nepal. After the three college bands’ performances, noted singers and bands like 1974 AD, Mt 8848 and Dibya Subba entertained the crowd.

Other bands like Abhaya and the Steam Injuns, Robin and the New Revolution, and rapper Nirnaya are set to perform on February 10.

The turnout was so much that the tickets were over for the day and there was also a tussle between throngs of visitors, who were not allowed inside the venue and security at the gate.
