Versatile diva

KATHMANDU: She defines herself as a “versatile artiste”. A proud statement, but in Aditi Singh Sharma’s case, she deserves it without objections from anyone.

Aditi, who rocked the serenity of the Last Resort during the Sun Dance Festival held last weekend, has become a name to reckon with in the Indian music industry — she has sung for Bollywood’s Dev D.

“Wow, it was one great experience performing on the side of breathtaking Bhote Koshi, and singing with Baja Gaja was the most exciting part of the day,” said Aditi.

Aside from Hindi and English numbers, she also crooned the ever popular Nepali number Musu musu hasi deu.

For Aditi music and stage performance was never a challenge. Through the years she has performed on various stages in India, Toronto and Melbourne. Besides she has also lent her voice to various Hindi movies working with some of the renowned singers and composers of Bollywood like Mika, Gaurav Dayal, Salim Sulaiman, Bappa Lahiri and Monty Sharma.

She enjoyed a lot during her short visit to Nepal.

“I came to realise that Nepali artistes are geniuses, so adept in their fields be it singing or playing the instruments,” said Aditi adding, “I would love to come back here, with or without any musical purpose. This country is really amazing.”

And she is thankful to those who made it possible for her to come to Nepal “for making my visit to Nepal a possible dream and all the fun I had”.
