It’s time yet again for the popular and prestigious Annual Tuborg Image Awards.

Image Channel has been organising the award ceremony for the last seven years, and this year it has added another category to its list — Best Song in the Tamang language. Nominees have been finalised in 25 categories for the awards that is scheduled to be held on Jestha 13 at the Birendra International Convention Centre.

Apart from Kathmandu, this year the competition forms for the awards were distributed from the Image FM offices at Dharan and Pokhara too. A total 92 songs from 80 albums produced by 27 audio cassette houses, and 12 music video houses have been nominated.

Winners will be picked from the list based on the jury’s decision and people’s choice through the process of popular voting. The list of the nominees and details of the voting process is given in many of the nation’s leading dailies including The Himalayan Times. People can also send in their votes via Nepal Telecom’s ‘sms’ and through email.

Singer-musician Bhakta Raj Acharya will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
