War movies fool all: Caine

LONDON: Actor Michael Caine was a soldier at one time but does not watch war movies because he feels they glamorise war. Caine fought in the Korean War and does not agree with the message war movies present that good guys always survive after killing the enemy, reported contactmusic.com.

He said: “I can’t even see a war film, because they fool everybody ... they fool young men. Nobody tells you they’re gonna kill you. You go out there and slaughter all these terrible people. And it’s a terror that you couldn’t even impart to anyone else. Infantrymen don’t even talk about it to each other because they just know. And I see these guys in Iraq and I think, oh my god, what are we doing?”
