The award ceremony for the Wave Web Winner 2004 was held at Yala Maya Kendra on February 25. The contest was initiated to encourage web designing talent among Nepalis in 2002 and has seen amazing talents who have established themselves in the design and IT fields since then. The programme was organised by Wave Magazine and was supported by ITNTI Solutions, Xtreme Nepal and DVD.com.
There were various categories of awards in order to provide an equal playing field to all. The winners were chosen by eminent personalities from various related fields. The award for Best Site — User Friendliness went to Digital Max Team, Best Site — Visual Appeal was given to Shrijit Rajbhandari, Best Site — Technicality went to Chandraman Maharjan, Best Site — Content went to Indira Sharma and Kailash Gyawali won the Editor’s Choice Award. For his website “prassanna.150m.com” Prajjwal Shakya won the The Wave Web Winner title.
“It is really nice to see such talent emerging in Nepal and since they are designing for brands like Walt Disney and Universal Studios it’s a matter of pride,” said Kashish Das Shrestha, editor, Wave Magazine.
