Scrambled tofu
Tired of eating cube tofus every time? Here’s a tofu recipe with a difference. It’s scrambled and you could it try out during the festive weekend
Ingredients
• 1/2 kilo tofu, drained and pressed for 15 minutes
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp pepper
• 1/2 tsp turmeric
• 1/4 tsp asafoetida (optional)
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1/4 cup peas
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1/2 tsp butter (optional)
• 1 capsicum, chopped
• 1 big tomato, chopped
Directions
• Crumble or mash the tofu.
• Grind the salt with the spices.
• Heat oil (and butter if you desire) in a kadhai on high heat.
• Sautee the onions.
• Once they are brown, add the tofu, peas, capsicum, tomato, salt and spices.
• Stir till the tofu is coated in spice and oil.
• Reduce the heat to medium, then turn the mixture infrequently for about 10 minutes before removing from flame.
• Serve with hot, hot chapatis. — Agencies
