Weekend lounge
Travelling for inspiration
Well-known poet and lyricist Viplob Pratik believes weekends are meant to relax and get closer to nature.
KATHMANDU: My weekdays are pretty hectic, so I try to relax and enjoy the free time weekend offers. I workout every morning and play badminton at Shridiva International School, Kamalpokhari. I don’t miss that on weekend either. On Fridays, I go for a quiet dinner at Nhuche’s Organic Bistro, Baluwatar. I like the place a lot for its organic foods and the menu there too is quite different from other places. Saturday is more about staying at home and relaxing. I wake up late and prepare some lunch on my own, listening to some music. I just love blues, reggae and instrumentals, as they help me unwind. On Sundays, I go for movies. Earlier, I used to visit Kathmandu Film Society, but now I go to theatres if there is any new release. I just watched Sawariya of late, which was pretty good. I like going for a hike. During Dashain, I went to Chiso Pani, which is a four-hour walk from Sunderijal and returned through Shivapuri that took eight hours. However, the walk was rejuvenating for my body and mind. I am planning to visit Benares this January for the Dhupad singing festival and on March I will be visiting the western region of Nepal. Travelling is not just for fun to me, but is also essential to inspire me and keep me excited with life.
