We have bid goodbye to 2063, and have ushered in the year 2064. I still remember the New Year’s party that we celebrated on the last day of 2063 at my home.

As dusk fell on another old year, the evening’s enjoyment began with all of us dancing to track music. The nine of us were to enjoy ourselves, but not to disturb anyone else.

We danced till midnight. Then we went up to the terrace to look at the beautiful moon of new year. We stayed on the terrace till dawn singing songs to the rhythm of our guitar.

Welcoming the year brings back nostalgia — the cold wind was blowing across the nation blowing in a message — ‘New dawn, new horizon, new year of happiness and care’.

I hope the same will be there for each of us this coming year. May the message spread not only in Nepal, but across the world. May ‘the world regain peace and unity’.
