Whale of good news
The latest study of whales around the world has found that some species are no longer at risk of becoming extinct. A survey by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) discovered a rise in the number of Humpback and Southern Right whales. Experts think this could be because a ban on hunting the massive mammals has helped the species’ recover. But the report does warn that some smaller species, like river dolphins, are still at risk.
