LONDON: American actress Whoopi Goldberg was left red-faced at the recent movie awards ceremony she was hosting, when she introduced actor Josh Brolin as his father, James. Goldberg, who on January 14 presented the 100th annual National Board of Review of Motion Pictures ceremony in New York, introduced the W star as his Emmy Award-winning actor/director dad.

Brolin dismissed the error and made a joke out of it when he stepped on stage to collect his Best Supporting Actor gong for Milk.

“That’s how f***ing famous I am! I just whispered in her ear, ‘What’s the matter with you?’ She said, ‘I don’t know — I’m high!’” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

Goldberg insisted on making up for the error, and apologised to Brolin for it.

“I want to apologise to Josh Brolin. Josh. Josh. Josh. Not James. I don’t know what happened — I do know how to say his name. I’m sorry,” she said.
