Wigs rest heavy on Knightley’s head

LONDON: British actress Keira Knightley has to wear 18th century wigs for the drama The Duchess and they are so heavy that she has to rest on a post made especially for her during breaks.

Knightley plays the controversial aristocrat Georgina Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire co-starring Ralph Fiennes. She had to wear a huge Marie Antoinette-style wig for numerous scenes. Her co-star Hayley Atwell revealed that Knightley is struggling under the weight of the wigs since her head and neck are delicate, reports thesun.co.uk.

Hayley said, “I loved filming The Duchess. Keira has a great sense of humour — she’s really funny. She had

to wear this huge wig that was so heavy. They made her a special board that she could lean her shoulders

and head against in between takes so she didn’t topple over or get neck ache! It

was funny.”
