Williams’ last film to open Ischia fest

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood funnyman Robin Williams’ last film Boulevard will have its European premiere opening at the 13th Ischia Global Film and Music Festival on July 12.

In the film, Williams plays a married bank employee whose encounter with a young hustler forces him to face his repressed homosexuality, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“We are proud to inaugurate the festival with a long awaited work. The first trailer of this movie recently launched on the web has touched the hearts of millions of fans who will soon commemorate the first anniversary of Williams’ passing on August 11,” said, festival’s director Pascal Vicedomini.

Boulevard directed by A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints helmer Dito Montiel also stars Bob Odenkirk and Kathy Baker.

Other films making their way to Ischia include the Sundance hit Ten Thousand Saints, directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, Doug Ellin’s Entourage, Paul Feigs Spy and James Kent’s Testament of Youth.

The 13th Ischia Global Film and Music Fest takes place from July 12-19.
