Winslet: I looked good naked

HOLLYWOOD: Kate Winslet has said that she relies on makeup and lighting to look good in her movies.

The actress told Marie Claire that she was happy with how she appeared during the nude scenes in her Oscar-winning performance in The Reader.

Winslet said: "In films I might look glamorous, but I've been in hair and make-up for two hours; someone's been lighting a scene for three hours.

"With the nudity in The Reader, for example, even I was like, 'Damn, I look good'. And that was the lighting - it was a bit of body makeup. I don't believe in pretending those things don't go on."

She added that she was "bullied for being chubby" as a girl and said that it was important for young people to realise that magazine covers are retouched and that "people don't really look like that".
