Writer King on ‘Save Potter’ mode
NEW YORK: Horror writer Stephen King has begged JK Rowling not to kill off Harry Potter. The Salem’s Lot author beseec-hed the British author to think again about wiping out the boy wizard in her final book.
During a press conference at Radio City Hall in New York on August 1, King — referring to Arthur Conan Doyle’s attempt to kill off Sherlock Holmes — said: “I don’t want him to go over the Reichenbach Fa-lls.” Meanwhile, Rowling, who was taking part in a charity reading in New York alongside the Carrie author, admits some fans will hate what happens in the seventh book in the series.
“Finally I’ve reached my resolution, and I think some pe-ople will loathe it and some people will love it, but that’s how it should be. We’re wo-rking towards the end I always planned but a couple of characters I expected to survive have died and one character got a reprieve.”
